The player after being given a new hairstyle in City Folk. Like in Wild World, the player's hairstyle in Animal Crossing: City Folk is determined by their answers to Kapp'n's questions at the beginning of the game and can be changed at Shampoodle for 3,000 Bells.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Shampoodle is located on the second floor above Able Sisters on the right side of Main Street. To unlock the store, the player must spend 30,000 Bells in Able Sisters or Kicks and 10 days must pass after Kicks opens. It takes 3 days to open.

If the player is not happy with their hairstyle one must save and go back because she will only do the player's hair once a day.

Additionally, Harriet's services aren't permanent (more on that in the next paragraph). Once a day, you can visit her to receive a random new hairstyle.

Requirements for a perfect town

All acres must not have weeds outnumbering flowers by 5 or more. All acres except for exempt ones (Wishing Well, River Pool, Train Station, Player Houses, Museum) must have between 9-16 trees, inclusive. The player must score 17 or higher "perfect acre" points.

A bedhead is a messy hairstyle introduced in City Folk. A bedhead only occurs if the player has not played for 15 days. The only way to remove a bedhead is to go to Shampoodle, a hair salon in the city, or on Main Street in New Leaf, and get a new haircut for 3,000 Bells.

It must first be unlocked by spending at least 10,000 Bells between the Able Sisters store or Kicks. Kicks must also have been open for at least seven days before construction begins. Afterwards, it takes four days for Shampoodle to be built.

In Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf, the player can change their character's hairstyle by visiting Harriet at Shampoodle. The style and color is determined through a series of questions.

In Wild World, Shampoodle is available inside of Nookington's, meaning that players will first have to unlock Nookington's by spending 240,000 bells and having a friend visit their town and purchase an item from Nookway before being able to change their hairstyle.
